The New Group is an award-winning and artist-driven New York company with a commitment to developing and producing powerful, contemporary theater. Led by founding Artistic Director Scott Elliot and Executive Director Adam Bernstein, The New Group is constantly evolving, striving to maintain an ensemble approach to all their work, with an articulated style of emotional immediacy in their acting and productions. Their approach has led to the production of more than 90 pieces featuring some of today’s most compelling performers.
2023 – Present
We were approached by The New Group for a full website rebuild after they heard about our in-house WordPress plugin, MaestroPress, and how it integrates with their online ticketing system, Spektrix. While their previous site was also built on WordPress, they found that their website lacked good user flow and prompts that encouraged their users to buy tickets or donate to their organization.
The anticipated launch of their website also fell during their 30th Anniversary which meant the redesign of the new site needed to incorporate the new anniversary branding.
Our teams got together for extensive discovery and UX phases, followed by a design phase where a New York design company was introduced into the process to support with the 30th Anniversary branding. Once the redesign was solidified, our team went into development which included integrating MaestroPress into the new website.
A key component of their website was highlighting the previous productions, which The New Group has more than 90 to showcase. Our plugin MaestroPress allowed The New Group to customize their events, current and past, to feature event details such as cast and crew members with individual bios, custom location descriptions, the billing of the production, and so much more.
Our team developed The New Group a new website with a ton of robust features and customized components. The new website now allows users to navigate through the website more seamlessly, purchase tickets, make donations, and learn more about all the offerings this outstanding New York organization has.
The website was also developed with the New Group team as a user in mind. Now their team can make updates to their own website confidently and with ease. Since the launch of their website, the Sland team has been happy to continue to provide The New Group with web hosting, ongoing support, optimizations, and new features.
