Kay Meek Arts Centre (KMAC) is a charitable, non-for-profit organization located in West Vancouver. Kay Meek prides themselves on creating a home for great arts experiences, gathering community in an inspiring and inclusive environment, and providing access to cultural expression in its many forms.
Their venue features a 498 seat main stage theatre, a black box theatre, a meeting/reception room, and a bright + welcoming lobby; having created a space for performers and guests alike.
2024 – Present
Kay Meek approached us for a website rebuild after hearing about our in-house plugin, MaestroPress, and how it can integrate with their online ticketing system, Spektrix. Their previous site was built on Squarespace, but they found that they had limitations with their iFrame based Spektrix ticketing system on that platform.
Kay Meek puts shows on year round which means they needed a robust website that could accommodate their ever growing performances, encourage users to purchase one of their many subscriptions, highlight their rental opportunities, and showcase their vibrant + welcoming branding.
While Kay Meek provided us with a refreshed sitemap, we put together a redesign that truly represented their Arts Centre and incorporated their 20th Anniversary branding into the design. Kay Meek uses lots of bold colours in their branding and we wanted to make sure all colours were represented on their new site in a clean and tasteful way.
The development of their new website included integrating MaestroPress which gave Kay Meek more flexibility with how their Spektrix ticketing information was going to display on their new site.
Our team was able to develop a newly designed website with full MaestroPress/Spektrix capabilities. Some key MaestroPress functions for their new website include: genre filtering, custom pricing input, restructured + branded subscription packages, and a branded checkout flow. The new website also allows users to make donations easier and fill out rental inquiry forms quicker.
Since the launch, our team has been happy to continue to provide Kay Meek with web hosting, ongoing support, optimizations, and new features to support their home for great art experiences.
